3D Printing technology is currently growing and can be used for creativity in making prototype learning media in schools. Even further, it can be used for products with economic value, such as: merchandise, knick-knacks, accessories, children’s toys and others.

Through Community Service activities, the service team from the Mechanical Engineering Department of UNP led by lecturer Rifelino, S.Pd., M.T introduced and trained productive teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh, Tanah Datar to operate 3D printing machines. The training materials consist of 3D object modeling design using Autocad software, setting print parameters and G-code generator using Cura software. Then it ends with a 3D object printing procession using a 3D printing machine.

Through this 3D printing technology training activity, it is hoped that it can provide a stimulus for productive teachers in schools to be creative in creating more interesting learning media. The service activity sponsored by the UNP Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M) was closed with the handover of 1 unit of the ANET ET 4 3D Printing machine to the SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh school.
